Introduction of Dysphagia Rehabilitation

Body : Dysphagia is physical, structural, physiological problems due to several nervous factors when food is took into mouth and move bolus posteriorly with a dynamic jaw and tongue so that it is triggered swallow reflex and sent up through the esophagus by pharyngeal complex protective mechanisms at the same time. We can applicate a comprehensive approach like a sensory stimulation, oral and pharyngeal movement, posture control, swallowing maneuvers through physical examination, screening tests and instrumental evaluation with other experts so that people with swallow disorder can swallow by oral intake. Rehabilitation of people with swallowing disorders must be provided for normal aging seniors swallowing disorders.
Conclusion : Swallowing rehabilitation area occupies an important part due to increase of dysphagia patients and occupational therapists must improve the quality and professional training to raise social contribution and role in the future.
