Dept.ofRehabilitation,WonjuChristianhospital,WonjuCollegeofMedicine,YonseiUniversity Introduction:Occupationaltherapistsfocusonmedicalpartsintreatmentofchildrenwithfoodrefusal.But thestudyaboutthisapproachisnotenough.Manystudyhasusedbehavioraltreatmentsforfoodrefusal thattheirresulthasbeensuccessful.Thisstudyintroducesnew approachesfortreatmentofchildrenwith foodrefusal. Body:Foodrefusalisdefinedasachild'srefusaltoeatallormostfoodspresented,resultinginthechild's failuretomeethisorhercaloricornutritionalneeds.Behavioralinterventionsareeffectiveinincreasing foodacceptanceofthesechildwhodon'thaveneurologicalimpairsandswallowingdifficulties.Behavioral interventionmethodsincludepositivereinforcement,escape-extinction,fading,whichcouldbeappliedto differentindividualsasvariousmethods. Conclusion:Behavioralinterventionproceduresshouldbecarefullyappliedtochildrenconfirmedwithstable medicalconditionsandrequirescloseobservationsofsubjectsandprofession'sadvicesbecauseitcould leadtomaladaptationbehaviors.
